Local Media Tour Ongoing F.M. Kirby Center Flood Recovery Project

On Monday, May 6th, Northeast Pennsylvania media outlets were invited to tour the bottom floor of the F.M. Kirby Center and witness the nonprofit’s ongoing flood recovery efforts.

Last October, half a million gallons of water flooded our lower level, resulting in extensive damage to various facilities. Affected areas included 11,000 square feet of offices, gallery space, the Mohegan Lounge and bar area, building electrical and stage lighting systems, downstairs restrooms, and newly redesigned artist dressing rooms. During the tour, attendees received a glimpse at the expansive project They also spoke to Executive Director Joell Yarmel about the incident and its aftermath.

Thanks to the efforts of F.M. Kirby Center community supporters and the tireless work of staff, the substantial blow to our building made a minimal impact on our 2023-24 season programming.
