On September 19, 2026, “The Diamond of Downtown” premiered at the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Curated by Neil Prisco, “The Diamond of Downtown” chronicles the first 40 years of the F.M. Kirby Center’s existence and looks forward to the future of the nonprofit.
Before the premiere, an exclusive reception was held for donors and dignitaries to celebrate the Kirby Center’s milestone and the documentary premiere.
The event was covered by Times Leader reporter Marcella Kester and the anniversary was the focus of Times Leader staff writer Bill O’Boyle’s Beyond the Byline column.
The Citizens’ Voice covered the evening at the F.M. Kirby Center in photos, while local stations WNEP and WBRE covered the event for their evening newscasts.
