The team is in place, the season’s brochure is printed, and presale ticket sales for members start on Monday.
Oh, and there’s also a brand new logo.
For members of the F.M. Kirby Center staff, the 2023-24 season is not just off to a strong start, but a symbolic new beginning as the landmark performing arts venue continues its rebound from the dark days of COVID-19, when entertainment facilities — like so much else — had to close and reopened painfully slowly amid restrictions.
“Everything is climbing back to that pre-pandemic time,” Executive Director Joell Yarmel said during an interview in her office last week.
“Since July of 2022 we have hired six new employees, and they’re just amazing,” Yarmel said, sitting around the table with the staff for a joint interview. “So there’s just really exciting energy in the halls right now.”
