Dumbo [G]

1941, 1 hour 4 minutes

Early Disney classic “Dumbo” is a beloved animated film that continues to captivate audiences more than 80 years after its release.

The titular pachyderm—realm name Jumbo Jr.—is nicknamed Dumbo by his fellow circus elephants due to his disproportionately large ears. In the film, Dumbo’s ears act as the cause of all his problems, but for audiences, they only served to make Disney’s newest animated star that much cuter.

Dumbo overcomes the odds both in the film and in real life, as he can still be seen on merchandise, in a recent live action remake, and in Disney’s parks around the world.

This film will be shown on the Luzerne Foundation Screen at the F.M. Kirby Center.
